Brainstorming!

This page is for our brainstorming ... what is our focus? what could it be?

what is possible? what might we include?

"Virti-Cue Cues!" - what do you think of this title? Love it! JJ

  • focus on a part of the application
  • which part??
  • create a simple story?

Do you think that a video with all of the steps would be too long? Yes, I do for our project timeline. This would be the proposed "future" tutorials section! JJ Perhaps we need to take segments of the process and make short little tutorials on them. A sample that we could use to build on:

Idea: Create a video tutorial, guiding users through the creation of a new story.
I like this section as it is. after all, it is the essential aspect we hope to use for our eventual learners.JJ I mean, if not this then we would be demonstrating adding sound, or editing clips, or putting all together etc. I prefer to start with the basic process for creating a story (as outlined below): here we can include the rationale around WHY we are choosing particular images which then inherently helps define the teaching/learning goals for eventual Aspergers' Students. In looking at the SAIT tutorials, I think we can be very explicit with text, voice over and demonstration.

In allowing for several options of choice for the pictures I do think we need to illustrate the process for each method i.e. an actual photograph of an example behavioral aspect. I mean, an example of clipart, and actual photograph(s), and/or an icon.
Could we list, within the tutorial, the other tutorials 'available' so that we can hint at the use of video also?

e.g. Steps:
1. From the home screen I select the button, “New Story"
2. Begin your story by selecting a title - something that reflects the nature of the social skill I’m trying to develop will help me to easily save and find my story on the cloud. Today I’m going to make a story that shows Billy how to take turns.
3. I’d like to choose an icon for my story, and I can use pictures from my clipart, take a picture, or use one of my existing pictures. I think I’ll take a picture of Billy playing with the toy he’s going to learn how to share.
4. I take the picture, select ‘save and add’, then go on to add more pictures to my social story.
5. More pictures are added in the same way. Let’s try adding another picture.
6. I click ‘Add picture’, ‘Take a picture’, ‘Use picture’, then ‘Save and add’
7. That’s all for adding pictures … tune into the next Virti-Cue Cues to find out how to add text to your pictures.

We'd need to think of the best method to portray these steps ... hmmmm, ideas?
